Shehbaz Sharif, President of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), met with prominent leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q), Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, at their residence in Lahore.
Shehbaz Sharif, the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, arrived at the residence of the PML-Q top leaders, where he was greeted by Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.
This is the first meeting between leaders of the PML-N and PML-Q in 22 years. The meeting comes as the political rivals grow closer following the no-trust motion against the PTI led government in recent days.
Khawaja Saad Rafique, Rana Tanveer, and Atta Tarar are among the members of the PML-N delegation. The meeting was attended by Chaudhry Shujaat, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Salik Hussain, and Shafe Hussain, all of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q.
The leaders of the PML-N and the PML-Q will meet to discuss the present political situation in Pakistan. According to reports, the conference would be centred on its agenda, which includes a no-trust movement against the PTI government in the Centre and Punjab state.
They went on to say that Shehbaz Sharif will approach the Chaudhry brothers and ask them to put an end to their political struggle.
Remember that on February 11th, the chairman of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), Maulana Fazlur Rehman, stated his intention to file a no-confidence motion against the government led by the Pakistan Tehreek-e Insaf (PTI) and that he would begin talks with the coalition parties.
After holding a summit meeting with the opposition alliance, the PDM resolved to file a no-trust motion against the PTI administration after laying the groundwork for its success. They also decided to form a delegation to communicate with the associate parties of the present government.
He had previously stated that PDM will complete its homework before implementing the no-trust policy….
