Shehbaz Sharif will meet with Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain today

A team from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) led by Shehbaz Sharif would meet with the leadership of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) on Sunday to ask about the health of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

It will be the first political engagement between the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and the Pakistan Muslim League-Q in 22 years.

The PML-N delegation will be led by its President, Shehbaz Sharif, and will include PML-N stalwart Khawaja Saad Rafique, Chairman Public Accounts Committee Rana Tanvir, and another party official, Ata Tarar.

The leaders of the PML-N will make a visit to the residence of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Tuesday.

The meeting will also be attended by Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Moonis Elahi, Minister of the Interior, and Chaudhry Salik Hussain.

The leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will inquire about the health of Chaudhry Shujaat and will also share opinions on the present political situation in the nation.

In order to gain support for the opposition’s no-confidence vote against the government at the national and provincial levels, sources say the PML-N will approach the Chaudhry brothers for assistance.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) declared that it will file a no-confidence motion against the government led by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and that it would begin talks with the coalition partners of the government.

Asif Ali Zardari, former president of Pakistan and co-chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), met with the leadership of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) on February 7 in Lahore.

Participants in the meeting were Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Punjab Assembly Speaker Parvez Elahi, Moonis Elahi, and federal minister Tariq Bashir Cheema among others.
