Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Punjab’s health minister, announced on Thursday that the government is developing 23 hospitals in the province at the same time for the first time in the province’s history.
In this capacity, she presided over a conference to monitor progress on the upgrading of the Mianwali district headquarters (DHQ) hospital and the building of a 200-bed mother and child facility there, as well as the establishment of a mother and child block at a public hospital in Dera Ghazi Khan.
At the meeting, which was attended by special secretaries Saleha Saeed and Dr. Asif Tufail, Professor Javed Chaudhry, Head Planning Officer Abdul Haq Bhatti, chief architect C&W, the principal of the DG Khan Medical College, and other top officials were present.
“We are keeping a careful eye on the progress of these projects,” the health minister stated at the time. “In accordance with Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s vision, we would give services to citizens right at their door.”
Her remarks were followed by the statement that, for the first time in history, the Punjab government is simultaneously establishing 23 hospitals, including seven modern mother and child facilities.
According to her, all mother and child hospitals will be included in the Naya Pakistan Sehat cards system.
In his remarks, Dr. Yasmin Rashid stated that the president and Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar are committed to providing women and children with high-quality health care.
She informed the audience that all necessary health services will be provided in the mother and child health centers.
