TikTok ban for Punjab Police

TikTok, a short video-making app, has been banned in Punjab, and police officers are not allowed to post on it.

Officials with the Punjab Police Department have stated that they have prohibited all officers from using TikTok while on duty.

When a video of any cop becomes viral on a social media app, the police department has issued a warning that the department will take strong departmental action.

AIG Operations presented the new guidelines to all RPOs via a letter and sent out to all of their employees.

According to the letter, publishing videos on the social media app TikTok and having them go viral presents an unfavorable image of the department to the public.

It is important to note that the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has already prohibited the use of a popular social networking application in the country on a number of occasions.

Earlier this year, the Peshawar High Court (PHC) issued an order on Thursday ordering the relevant authorities to prohibit the popular short-video sharing app TikTok from operating in the country.
