Shehbaz Sharif, Ahsan Iqbal, Saad Rafique, Shah Mohammad Shah, Miftah Ismail, and Maryam Aurangzeb were among the PML-N members that welcomed the MQM-P delegation, which included the party’s Senior Deputy Convener Aamir Khan and former Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar.
During the conference, issues such as internal changes, the Sindh local government law, and the country’s overall political condition were discussed.
According to sources close to the situation, the MQM-P, a close ally of the ruling PTI, has told Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif that they will not break with the ruling party and will not back the opposition’s no-trust motion against the present administration.
MQM- P, PML-Q meeting:
A team from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) met with Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) leaders Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi today, with the latter stating that leaving the government was not on the table.
After the meeting, PML-Q leader and Punjab Assembly Speaker Pervaiz Elahi and MQM-P leader Amir Khan spoke to the media and declared, “There was no such debate on breaking ties with the government.”
He claimed that they are both members of the government and that they communicate their grievances to the government following a discussion at the party level. “Today’s meeting had a similar goal in mind,” he explained.
Elahi went on to say that they hoped to gain the support of the opposition in Punjab for the local government bill and present it to the parliament as a consensus measure.
Amir Khan told the media that they went to see Chaudhry Shujaat to check about his health and that the meeting also included a political talk.
