David Beckham confesses that he and his wife Victoria Beckham always ordered the most expensive wine at every restaurant. Both had an urban romantic affair.
He stated, “I grew up in the East End of London, so I only ever saw my parents drink Blue Nun or Lambrusco.”
When I first started dating Victoria, we used to go to a place called The French Restaurant in Manchester’s Midland Hotel. We used to order the most expensive bottle of champagne and the most expensive bottle of wine whenever we went there.
We were looking forward to a fun night out with friends and a delicious drink. Despite the fact that we had no understanding what we were consuming. And I believe that was my first experience with a top-notch wine.
A 1962 or 1967 Latour is what I’m assuming. Those were my first experiences with fantastic tasting food. David Beckham and Victoria Beckham didn’t know if it was good or not but they got the distinct impression. They was enjoying something extraordinary.
As a professional athlete at the time, I wasn’t a heavy drinker. I used to have a few glasses of wine on sometimes. But I never drank during my career.
