Sheikh Rasheed said Presidential system not to impose on country

Neither a presidential system nor a state of emergency is being implemented in the country, according to Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, who spoke on Wednesday.


“All of these things are nothing more than rumors, and as the interior minister, I can assure you that there is no plan to introduce the presidential system or to declare an emergency in the country,” he said during a press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday.

He also Spoked about the health condition of Nawa Sharif, he added that on the one hand, Nawaz Sharif was unable to fly to Pakistan because of COVID, but on the other hand, they were urging people to march towards.

However, He stated that the opposition could march towards Islamabad and that the administration is not concerned about it.

In addition, he dismissed their plans to submit a no-confidence resolution in the Parliament as “neither a deal nor a dheel,” he stated.

Sheikh Rasheed, speaking about the state of law and order in the country, stated that he has addressed letters to chief secretaries and inspectors general in all provinces, urging them to stay alert in the face of mounting terrorist threats.

“The TTP has increased its attacks, and two of its terrorists have lately been neutralized in Islamabad,” he said, adding that it was not possible for them to heed the TTP’s demands for a ceasefire in the city.

When asked about transfers of FIA officials dealing with mega-money laundering cases, the interior minister stated that the Director-General of the Federal Investigation  Agency (FIA) had reshuffled the officials and that he was unaware of the moves.

“Only the Prime Minister’s Office has the authority to reverse these transactions,” he explained.
