Punjab records new 2,212 Covid cases in 24 hours

The number of new COVID cases in Punjab increased by 2,212 in the last 24 hours to 2,212.

Imran Sikandar Baloch, Secretary of the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department of Punjab, has confirmed that 12 persons have died as a result of the deadly virus in the last 24 hours.

The health secretary stated that vaccination and other preventative measures can be used to slow the spread of the coronavirus virus. “We’re attempting to vaccinate all people above the age of 12 in the province,” he explained further.

Also said by him was that the coronavirus vaccine has been made available in sufficient quantities at immunization centers.

Murad Raas, Punjab’s Education Minister, recently stated that more than 5.6 million students had been immunized against Covid-19 at schools around the province.

Pakistan recorded 7,978 cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, the second-highest day caseload since the onset of the epidemic in February 2020, according to the World Health Organization.

According to the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), a total of 64,016 samples were tested, with 7,978 proving to be positive. This represents an increase in the infection rate from yesterday’s 11.31 percent to 12.46 percent today.

The total number of confirmed illnesses increased to 1,417,991 with the inclusion of 7,978 new cases.

In the previous 24 hours, 29 additional patients have died as a result of the viral infection, bringing the total number of people who have died to 29,248. It was reported by the NCOC that the number of patients in critical care in various hospitals has increased to 1455.
