Nong Rong, the Chinese envoy to Pakistan, paid a courtesy call on Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ today and thanked them for providing a secure environment for CPEC projects, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Nong Rong and Qamar Javed Bajwa decided at the meeting to examine issues relevant to regional security, as well as measures to further expand bilateral cooperation, according to the ISPR statement.
On this occasion, COAS Bajwa stated that Pakistan remains dedicated to engaging with its international allies in order to bring about peace in the region.

According to the ISPR, the visiting dignitary expressed gratitude to the COAS for the exceptional measures taken to ensure a safe and secure environment for CPEC projects in Pakistan, as well as for efforts to maintain regional stability.
The Chinese envoy also expressed pleasure with the progress made on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and reiterated the need of completing the remaining projects on time.
