Prince Harry appealed in UK courts for his police protection

Government of UK refused Prince Harry to give any police protection paid by his own pocket as he stepped down from his royal duties. The Prince took the matter to the UK courts and argued that this means he will unable to come home. Whereas, he is requesting a court review in London after the interior ministry rejected his request to pay for protection.

When Harry and her wife Meghan stepped down from their royal duties in 2020 and moved to the United States, they lost their taxpayer-funded protection. They now have their own private security team in California. He claimed that the US team would not have sufficient authority to defend his family in the United Kingdom in legal papers.

The duke’s legal representative told press, “the UK will always be home of Prince Harry and a place in which he wants his police protection. There is too much personal risk when there is no police with him. His family has subjected to well-documented neo-Nazi and extremist threats in recent years.”

As he drove away from a charity event in London last summer, Harry has pursued by paparazzi photographers. They unveiled a statue of their mother the next day with their oldest brother Prince William.

According to a government official, the UK’s security measures for VIPs are rigorous and reasonable. As a matter of principle, they have never disclosed any specifics about these relationships. They also warned that doing so may jeopardise the integrity of the organisation and jeopardise the security of people.
