Imran Khan will Present the Country’s First National Security Policy on Friday

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is preparing to announce the country’s first-ever National Security Policy on Friday.

More specifically, the federal government has chosen to make more than 100 pages of the policy public, according to the details. On Friday, the prime minister will make public a document including non-confidential policy ideas that will run to 50 pages.

According to official sources, the original form of the policy will remain classified; however, a public version of the document will be made available for public viewing and comment.

According to the sources, the national security policy was drafted with participation from relevant federal departments, provincial governments, and specialists, among others. The policy establishes rules for economic, military, and human security, as well as other areas.

The policy provides comprehensive guidance on national security, with a particular emphasis on expanding the national resource pie in order to bolster Pakistan’s traditional and non-traditional security.

It also includes discussions of hybrid warfare, internal security, and foreign policy, according to a state-owned news agency.

Additional sources disclosed that the policy would be evaluated on an annual basis.

It is important to highlight here that the National Security Committee (NSC) of Pakistan approved the country’s first-ever National Security Policy for the period 2022-2026 on December 27.
