OIC Meeting Decided to Set up Funds For Afghanistan: Shah Mahmood Qureshi

OIC meeting decided to set up a fund for Afghanistan to help it rebuild its banking system was a “great success” of the meeting, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on Monday.

It was a day after the Council of Foreign Ministers from the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) met. The foreign minister said that Allah had given Pakistan great honor and success under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

There were people from all the countries in the OIC who came to the meeting, as well as representatives from aid organizations and other special people. Saudi Arabia organized the meeting, and Pakistan hosted it.

He said that the presence of 20 foreign ministers, 10 deputy foreign ministers, and 437 delegates was a huge success for Pakistan. He also said that the coordination between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia had made a big step forward in the last few years.

There are 38 million people in Afghanistan. It’s not about the Taliban, but about them. There is hunger and famine in Afghanistan. They need medicine and food now, he said.

This is what the foreign minister said, The schools could also work only if the government had enough money to pay teachers and other staff.

It’s important for the United States to think about what the public needs.

Thanked everyone who worked hard to make sure the meeting could happen, including the Foreign Office staffers, the National Assembly Speaker, the Senate’s Armed Forces, and the media both in the United States and around the world for their coverage of the meeting.
