Rohit Sharma is India’s new T20 ‘Hitman’

The new T20 captain’s placid demeanour contrasts significantly with the previous T20 captain’s ferocious on-

India resorted to ‘The Hitman’ after exiting the World Cup Super 12.

The 34-year-old will coach the T20 team in Australia in 12 months and maybe the 50-over team in 2023.

Rohit was the obvious choice after Kohli said he would walk out after the World Cup. Not one of Kohli’s teams had won a major prize for India.

Rohit has guided the Mumbai Indians to five IPL wins since replacing Ricky Ponting in 2013.

In 2014, he hit 264 from 173 balls against Sri Lanka in Kolkata, the best ODI score. A century in one-day internationals is rare.

Prominent ex-Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar and ex-England skipper Michael Vaughan backed Rohit’s elevation

“Great leader and boss,” Vaughan said. Like all other teams globally, it would allow Virat to relax and play. Rohit’s physique is not like Kohli’s.

Contrast Vice-Captain Kohli’s laid-back demeanour with his confrontational demeanour when shifting fielding positions.

It was always batting. Critics criticised Erskine after his 0 and 14 in India’s first World Cup losses to Pakistan and New Zealand.

His goal for the squad, which hasn’t won a major prize since 2013, was emphasised. No errors with the bat or ball, but none with the decisions. The World Cup requires more focus.

“We lost our first two games.” Neither are we poor players or a team. So far, so good. You have to think about your mistakes.

The Indian squad needs no instruction from these individuals. In 2019, Rohit started against South Africa and scored two centuries. It is currently 212, with an average of roughly 60.

Rohit, who shared the 2007 T20 World Cup with MS Dhoni, has always acknowledged his family.
