Due to the large number of programmes available in Apple’s App Store. It is inevitable that some of them will be bad apples who will attempt to defraud customers. We’ve heard similar reports in the past. When some scam apps are said to be taking in as much as $1 million per month from unsuspecting users. And now Apple improves scam app reporting and has added the “Report a Problem” button again. Consumers will be able to report malicious applications to Apple far more easily now. The company has officially addressed those issues.
According to reports on Twitter by Kosta Eleftheriou and Richard Mazkweich, it appears that Apple has restored the “Report a Problem” button in the App Store for app listings, which has previously removed. When users tap on the app, they will be take to another website. Where they may choose whether or not the app in question is a scam or a fraud.
To report these types of apps in the past, customers had to go through a somewhat time-consuming process. The process involved in transferred to another page where they would have to enroll into their Apple account once more. But now Apple improves scam app reporting. However, with the restoration of the button, customers will be able to lodge a complaint with Apple in a more convenient manner. Rather than they previously had the option of doing.
In order to utilise this feature, you would need to have the app downloaded and installed on your phone. This is reasonable, we believe. Because Apple does not want users to just misuse this feature in order to try and get innocent apps into trouble.
While this is a positive development. It remains to be seen how long Apple will take to address the apps that have identified. Since Apple has previously allowed these types of apps to flourish, critics have pointed out that while reporting them is now easier. What happens next will likely be more indicative of whether or not the company is now taking these issues more seriously.
