Finally Facebook’s Ray-Ban Smart Glasses have launched

A few years ago it has announced that Facebook would be working with Ray-Ban to develop a new Facebook’s smart glasses. There is some good news for those who have been wondering about Facebook’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, but we’re not sure if they can be termed “smart”.

The device, called Ray-Ban Stories, looks more like Snaps Spectacles than other smart glasses like Google Glass. It has a built-in camera, microphone and speaker so you can take photos and videos. You can then upload the captured footage to Facebook View, a new app for hosting photos and videos captured with Ray-Ban Stories.

Facebook admits that there may be some privacy concerns, saying that it has an LED wire attached to indicate that the device is taking a photo or video. There is also a power button that turns everything off. Facebook also gives users control over what type of data has collected. And whether or not they want to share it with the company.

Ray-Ban Stories also comes with its own case that charges simultaneously. According to Facebook, charging through the box will take a total of about three days. However, the glasses are not that cheap and cost $299. It will be offered in the United States, Australia, Canada, Ireland, Italy, and the United Kingdom in 20 different styles.
