WhatsApp public beta program has launched for desktop app

Like most apps, WhatsApp has launched the public beta program for it’s desktop users. This is necessary because they need to make sure that it works before releasing the app to the public. If you run an app or update a table and it doesn’t work, or worse, crashes the app, that would be catastrophic.

The app already has a beta version of its mobile app on iOS and Android. But now, according to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp also appears to be working on launching a public beta program for its desktop app. As you know, WhatsApp has a desktop application that allows users to talk from their computer instead of constantly reaching for their phone.

This beta program basically allows users to participate so that they can try out new features in front of everyone. And help WhatsApp understand bugs and potential security holes before they have released to the public. This beta will cover both Windows and macOS. If you’re interested, you can download the Windows version here or if you’re using macOS. You can download the version here.

Remember, as this is a beta version, you will run into bugs and issues. Therefore, using it as a daily driver might not be the best idea.
