On Friday, following a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar at the CM House, the PTI head offered his resignation.
Buzdar reports that Prime Minister Imran Khan would shortly provide Awan with a ministry inside the federal cabinet. “I would be delighted if [Awan] could continue to support the Punjab party and deliver its services,” he continued.
Awan was appointed by the premier in April 2019 as the Prime Minister’s special assistant in information and broadcasting. She replaced Fawad Chaudhry, who was then science and engineering minister.
Previously, after he had been asked to quit the Jahangir Tareen group, Special Coordinator Awn Chaudhry offered his resignation.
