Two people were killed in Islamabad after a cloudburst

Flooding from the Islamabad cloudburst killed at least two individuals, on Wednesday.

Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat has stated in a Twitter post that cloud burns in Islamabad had flooded in different locations, an announcement which the Met Office contradicts.

When the federal capital got almost 300 mm of rain within a few hours, severe precipitation hampered life.

A rescue effort was initiated around the city by Capital Development Authority (CDA) to remove clogged highways.

Videos from the E-11 and D-12 areas in Islamabad show automobiles swimming in raining waters for hours after heavy rain.

In the current monsoon season, the twin cities received the greatest rainfall.
