Lorde has earned the title of ‘elder statesman’

At the age of only 24, New Zealand singer Lorde is glad to be a “older statesman.” She hardly uses social media since the ‘Stoned at the Nail Salon‘ singer wanted to discover herself unable to continually follow “loves” in her postings and after being at a crossroads, determined that her life was prepared for progress.

She said to Zane Lowe of Apple Music, “I realised I tried to create a creative Instagram name for herself and take pictures of myself, that looked great I hoped would get a lot of fun. It’s clear, but it’s cooked.

Lorde agreed, however, that social media offers a disadvantage – it is now much more difficult to keep up to speed with the lives of her friends.
