Assassins Creed Valhalla developer explains how missile reversal works

Eivor gains a lot of skill in Assassins Creed Valhalla, but none as great as a rocket launch. That allows you to pull arrows (and other projectiles) out of the air to shoot your enemies. Developer Ubisoft opened the curtain on game development on a number of developer blogs. And today that means disrupting the way the rocket spins.

There are lots of funny videos about enemies in Assassins Creed Valhalla. But this blog also gives great ideas on how to perform a small function like this. In general, the game monitors whether the egg has been fired, whether the projectile is aimed at the egg, and how close it is to impact.

Every time you press the parry button, the game checks if the projectile is in the correct position. If so, the incoming projectile has destroyed, a new projectile has thrown into Eivor’s hands. And then fired at the enemy that fired first.
There are many more of course, but you can find out the full details on the blog. All traces of ragdoll aside, one of the funniest details is the early bug where Eivor doesn’t throw a projectile back, but instead throws his own enemy at the attacker.

Assassin’s Creed Infinity is the next big step in a series of open world games, and without going into much detail, it’s already proving to be a controversial direction for longtime fans.
