After Amanullah Yasinzai resigned from the job, Agha, a leader of the ruling PTI, was appointed in his stead.
Yasinzai’s resignation has been accepted, according to a statement released by the President.
Yasinzai’s resignation comes two months after a letter purportedly written by Prime Minister Imran Khan was leaked, urging the Balochistan governor to quit.
The premier stated in his letter to Yasinzai that he was unable to visit him in person due to the country’s current Covid-19 crisis.
Given the current political environment, however, dexterity and deftness are required at this juncture to perform a delicate balancing act that ensures both political inclusion and the fulfillment of our commitments to Pakistan’s people.”
“With the foregoing in mind, I plan to nominate a new governor in Balochistan and, as a result, I would urge that you resign.”
On Prime Minister Imran Khan‘s nomination, President Arif Alvi nominated him as the governor of Balochistan.
