Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue, Shaukat Tarin, chaired the Cabinet’s Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) meeting in Islamabad.
The meeting was attended by Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad, Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi, Minister for National Food Security and Research Syed Fakhar Imam, Federal Minister for Energy Hammad Azhar, Federal Minister for Railways Azam Khan Swati, Assistant PM Special on Poverty Reduction.
During the meeting, the ECC approved the increase of the monthly Ehsaas Kafalat stipend to Rs 166 per w.e.f beneficiary at the request of the Poverty Alleviation and Social Security Division in relation to the Indexing Policy for money transfer and allowed the BISP to adopt the institutional mechanism.
The Recipients would receive additional cash of Rs 166 per month due to indexation.
Moreover, The supplementary technical subsidy in the amount of Rs43 million in favor of the Ministry of Housing and Works was also approved.
The ECC at its meeting allowed the Information and Broadcasting Division to re-appropriate the PSDP funds from Rs. 17.633 million through a complementary technical grant.
Request for a supplementary technical grant from the Ministry of Narcotics Control for Rs 5 million, Science and Technology for Rs 317 million, and Establishment Division for Rs. 54 million were approved at the ECC Meeting.
Similarly, The Ministry of Interior’s request for a supplementary technical grant of Rs 30 million was also approved.
The ECC also approved the requirement for additional funds of Rs 75 million from the Ministry of Housing and Works in relation to three development schemes.
Contribution delays amounting to Rs. 3,369.62 million on account of the Group Insurance Fund by the Finance Division on behalf of unpublished Federal Government officials (BS 1 to BS) were also approved at the meeting.
