The years first solar eclipse for 2021 will occur on June 10 (Thursday). The eclipse can occur at 1:12 PM Pakistan Standard Time (PST) while peaking at 3:42 PM and is expected to end at 4:34 PM. The solar eclipse will be visible in Russia, Greenland, northern Canada, northern Asia, Europe and the United States.

These eclipses occur every year or two and can only be seen from a narrow path across the planet. Astronomer and director of the Institute of Space Science and Technology at Karachi University, Dr. Javed Iqbal said the first eclipse in 2021 cannot be observed in Pakistan. This solar eclipse “Ring of Fire” was also not observed in Pakistan.

An annular eclipse occurs when the moon wanders between the earth and the sun. It is not close enough to our planet to completely obscure the sun’s rays. It leaves a thin visible ring on the sun’s disk.
