The first information report (FIR) was recorded on Tuesday against a woman involved in a holiday shootout during her wedding a few days ago, police said. In a viral video, the woman can be seen firing a gun before climbing onto the stage where the groom is waiting.
The incident took place on May 30 in Laxman-Ka-Purwa Village, under the Jethwara Police Station, Pratapgarh District. The bride shot into the air shortly before the “jai maala” from her uncle Ramvas Pandey’s gun, Pratapgarh police chief Akash Tomar said.
A Jethwara police officer, Sanjay Pandei, said an FIR was filed against the woman under the relevant sections of India’s Penal Code, Guns Act and Epidemic Act. Further action on this matter will be taken soon, he added.
