The education council unanimously decided to conduct annual exams on June 10 and June 12 on June 23, in accordance with state standard operating procedures for the prevention and control of the Coronavirus.
They also agreed that if the Covid-19 case was found under control, the ninth and eleventh-grade exams would start a week after the 10th and 12th-grade exams were completed.
The decision was made at a meeting of the chairman’s committee Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The seventh president of the Provincial Education Council attended. The Department of Primary and Secondary Education will announce the exams later.
At a recent meeting of federal and state education ministers, Communist Party Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Shahram Khan Tarakai suggested starting the 10th and 12th exams on June 23.
According to official figures, 804,565 students are registered on the seven education councils for the annual examination for secondary education and 507,177 for the secondary exam.
Last year, the government announced an increase in grades 1 to 12 without taking exams due to an increase in Covid-19 cases.
