Federal Minister for Education and Training Minister Shafqat Mehmood announced on Tuesday that he had tested positive for the coronavirus.

In a tweet, the minister revealed he was “feeling fine with mild symptoms”.

“God willing, it will get better soon,” he added.

According to Sources, the federal minister attended the event the day before testing positive for the virus. Special Assistant to Prime Minister Usman Dar attended the event along with others.

Sources said the previous minister was tested for the virus after experiencing mild symptoms. Instead of isolating himself, the minister attended the event, where he also took the stage as the main guest of the ceremony and spoke to the youth and some of the officials there.
