Stripe will open its first Middle East office in Dubai when its services begin in the United Arab Emirates. Payment Company Stripe marks its first steps in the Middle East with the opening of a new office in the United Arab Emirates.

Recently founded by Irish brothers Patrick and John Collison. This $ 95 billion company is one of the most valuable US startups in the world.

The announcement of the office in Dubai coincides with the launch of its services in the UAE. Starting this week, businesses across the country will be able to use the Stripe platform to receive and make payments online.

Henderson added that launching Stripe in the UAE also means connecting a global user base with the region.

Stripe claims more than 10,000 companies have expressed interest in launching in the UAE. To manage this search, invitations are queued for the first few weeks of availability.

The pre-launch beta product testing program in the UAE includes companies such as Illusions Online, Aceplace, ChatFood and WeKeep. While Irish company Glofox is already using Stripe payments for customers in the UAE and other markets.

Glofox offers fitness management software, and CEO Conor O’Loughlin said Stripe’s launch in the UAE can a “catalyst” for growth in the region.

Last month, Stripe announced that it would add 1,000 new jobs to its Irish base over the next few years. This expansion expect to support further business growth in Europe.

Stripe has also expressed interest in expanding into new markets such as Brazil, India and the United Arab Emirates.

Last year Stripe launched in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Cyprus and Malta. With the takeover of Nigerian startup Paystack in October, the company is also expanding in Africa.
