Sindh’s shops will be closed on Friday and Sunday

Sindh shops will remain closed on Fridays and Sundays, the Sindh government said on Monday following a spike in coronavirus infections in the country.

In a statement Monday, the Head Office said grocery stores, medical shops, dairy stores, and other businesses that fall into the basic service category would be exempt from the restrictions.

In light of what may be the deadliest coronavirus surge, the Sindh government has previously issued a notice ordering the closure of wedding halls and all business centers from 6 April 2021 at 8 pm.

However, traders in Pakistan’s financial capital have again rejected orders from the Sindh government that the coronavirus must shut down markets by 8 p.m. – in line with their position last year when they protested against market closures in major cities.

Karachi dealerships violated the Sindh government’s notice to close the business center at 8 pm and demand restoration of previous working hours.
