The University of Karachi (KU) has installed a 30 KW solar module for energy generation at its Faculty of Philosophy.

Lawyer Murtaza Wahab, spokesman for the Sindh government inaugurated the university-funded solar power system. The grid-connected solar panel system helps KU save on the cost of paying their electricity bills.

Wahab educates members on the benefits of installing a solar panel system, including improving the environment by emitting no greenhouse gases and providing an affordable and cost-effective power generation system.

“There are changes at the university and this is a matter of pride,” he added.

The University of Karachi Alumni Association, Baltimore, Washington has raised Rs. 3 million for the installation of a 30 kW solar system for the first unit of the Faculty of Philosophy – a project starting in October 2020.
