Final of ICC test championship was scheduled to held at Lord’s before, but now it has shifted to Southampton due to corona virus safety measures.
Because of corona virus situation in London, ICC decided to shift the venue of the first test championship final.
After discussing it with ECB, ICC decided to change the final match venue.
“The final of the ICC World Test Championship between India and New Zealand will be staged in a bio-secure bubble at the Hampshire Bowl in Southampton,” said the ICC.
“The decision, taken by the ICC Board, follows discussions with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) where a range of options were considered to ensure the inaugural final could be staged safely with the potential impact of COVID-19 minimized for all involved,” further statement added.

Southampton has hosted many international games in 2020 and it has hotel facility attached to it.
Hotel attached facility was the main reason for selecting this venue for the final match.
Teams will play in strict bio-secure environment to ensure the health safety of the players and all the staff.
This venue provides all world-class facilities to the players within the ground area. It will really help to ensure the success of bio-secure bubble for both teams.
Limited number of spectators will watch the final match if the Government of UK will ease the lockdown restrictions.
New Zealand is the first team who qualified for the final of test championship, while Indian team booked their seat for final after beating England in home series.
