In response to the protest march by the banned Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) that had proceeded outside the city’s bounds on its route to Islamabad, the city’s deputy commissioner (DC) declared all highways in Lahore open for traffic on Saturday evening, according to the official.
Lahore DC Umer Sher Chattha stated that all highways in the city were open for traffic, and that the Metro bus service from Gajju Matta to Mao College had partially resumed operations.

According to a statement released by his office, the DC stated that he had visited numerous locations throughout the city to assess the present situation.
“Instructions have been sent to remove all obstructions from these places as soon as possible and to ensure the restoration of facilities such as transportation, the Speedo bus, the Metro, the Orange line, and ambulance,” he wrote on Twitter.
According to a spokeswoman for the Punjab police, the marchers had arrived in Muridke, which is located within the boundaries of the Gujranwal district, around 7 p.m. that evening, according to the spokesperson.
Earlier, a spokeswoman for the Lahore police, Rana Arif, stated that the demonstrators had arrived at the Kala Shah Kaku Interchange and were going to travel to Islamabad through the Grand Trunk Road.
