The administration of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has decided to introduce a free tablet program for eligible students and teachers in the province.
As announced by the education secretary of the province, Ashfaq Ahmed, a total of 23,000 tablets would be awarded to eligible students and instructors throughout the province.
He went on to say that the Rs1 billion free tablet project would be funded by the government.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administration (KP) declared last year that it will hire 25,000 teachers and implement a smart school system in the province within the next year.
KP Education Minister Shahram Tarakai had stated in a media interview that new furniture would be delivered to schools in the province with the start of the new academic session. The new academic session will begin on August 1.
“Provision of high-quality education in the province is the government’s primary priority,” says the premier. In order to address the teacher shortfall, he remarked, “25,000 more instructors must be recruited.”
