King Charles III has been criticised for not promoting “hard-working” Prince Edward.
Edward was supposed to inherit the Duke of Edinburgh title from King Charles III, but a Palace insider says he may not.
On Edward’s wedding day, the late queen and prince gave him the title. According to Express.co.uk, most want the next king to honour his brother.
Edward, Earl of Wessex, was promised to replace his father as Duke of Edinburgh, but he won’t.
A Palace source told the Daily Mail this week that the King has changed his mind about making the Earl the Duke of Edinburgh.
It would be handed on to the Earl and Countess of Wessex’s son, James, Viscount Severn. Earl agreed that his children wouldn’t be princes or princesses.
The King will supposedly preserve the title but not use it.
According to Express UK’s surveys, 10,135 individuals voted, with 94% (9,496) saying Edward should be duke of Edinburgh. 6% said Charles shouldn’t give his brother the title, and 61% didn’t know.
