Khyber Pakhtunkhwa extends winter holidays

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has extended winter holidays by 15 days for schools. These holidays for those areas that belong to the Malakand Division and other upper areas.

The Minister of Vocational Education, Shahram Khan Tarakai, announced this in an official tweet on Friday.


Minister Tarakai announced that schools in the region would reopen on February 15, 2021.


Previously, schools in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had winter holidays until January 31 which have now been extended by two weeks.


The decision came a day after the National Center for Command and Control (NCOC) approved the Federal Education Department’s decision to reopen secondary and primary schools and universities on February 1.

The decision to gradually open educational institutions was taken at an inter-provincial ministerial meeting on 4 January.

It was decided to reopen middle schools and colleges on January 18 and primary and secondary schools along with universities on February 1.
