A court of Lahore bail was granted to TikToker Kashif Zameer, who was charged with scamming Turkish actor Engin Altan aka Ertugrul.
After Altan lodged a complaint against him, he was detained on 18 July.
On Saturday, after the end of his physical detention, the suspect was brought before the court. His bail against a guarantee of Rs50,000 was obtained.
After a letter from the Turkish Embassy to the Punjab department of Home, Punjab Police detained Kashif. TikToker contacted Engin to film for his Chaudhry Group, but there were no compensation, he said. Kashif revoked the contract when Engin requested compensation.
An FIR has been lodged at the police station at Racecourse in Lahore. A green number plaque and blue protocol light from the raid at his home have been confiscated by police and a private car.
Before he went to Pakistan, Kashif visited Engin in Turkey and gave him a Rs6 million ring. The actor came to Pakistan for a two-day visit in December 2020.
Shortly thereafter, allegations of Kashif participating in various crimes began spreading, with eight charges against him already lodged.
