On Monday, the Supreme Court (SC) told the government it had not held a Joint Interest Council meeting in the past two months.
The Supreme Court‘s discontent with the government was expressed during the local authority election hearing, and Justice Qazi Faez Isa runs the two-person bench.
Justice Qazi Faez Isa said, “Either the government cannot run the country or cannot make decisions,”

The census was a basic need for the state government. “Isn’t it the government’s priority to publish census results? Even though [although PTI] has governments in three provinces, there is no decision in the council.”
Judge Isa also asked why the CCI report was entrusted. “Are good deeds secret? That raises questions.”
When asked whether the state would work like this, the judge insisted that the state needed to know what the provinces and the center were doing.
“[The center] has governments in three provinces, and no province except Sindh approves the federal government’s decision,” he said.
