Just In: HBL PSL 6 Postponed

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has allowed foreign players to exit the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) HBL after many positive cases of Covid-19.

Australian Dan Christian, who plays for Karachi Kings, has decided to leave the PSL.

According to the details, seven players and a support agent tested positive for the virus, raising questions about the biosecurity mechanism and PCB reserves for abrasions from foreign players.

Tom Bunton of Quetta Gladiators and Fawad Ahmed of Islamabad United and Lewis Gregory were among the positive players.

Sources also revealed that the players relaxed after Peshawar head coach Zalmi Darren Sami and captain Wahab Riaz were reintegrated with the rest of the team without following proper biosecurity protocols. The move was taken after Zalmi refused to take to the field without his duet against Lahore Qalandars.

The player’s family also joins the balloon without spending time on proper quarantine and testing. They were also seen among the players in the stands at Karachi National Stadium.
