Former wrestler John Cena many times got rejection by Marvel movies before landing the role in the DCEU show. He returned as a peacemaker to HBO Max’s series ‘The Suicide Squad Reboot’ last year.
Since its debut, a spinoff of the 2021 film ‘James Gunn’ series has received glowing reviews. The series delves into the past of John’s titular character, who is a peacenik who would stop at nothing to achieve it.
John Cena has disclosed that he has got rejection by both Marvel and DC in the past. There is no denying that Shazam is among them. The ‘Deadpool’ world was briefly explored but it has rejected… In Marvel’s reality, there were a few people who had rejected. Nevertheless, as you may have noticed, I always persisted. This is a problem for me that I don’t chase. I want to do this. I always have to read the screenplay.
The actor went on to say that he has saddened by the decision to pass on Shazam since he believed the character and the storyline were very exciting.
John Cena is ecstatic to be a part of James Gunn’s DC Extended Universe programme Peacemaker. HBO Max currently has the first three episodes of the show available for viewing.
