Our industry has failed to portray true spirit of women, says Jessica Chastain

A well known Hollywood actress Jessica Chastain stated that our industry has failed to portray true spirit of women. She feels that such well written characters are few and far between yet. There is still a lack of strong female parts in films even things have improved in recent years.

It’s become common knowledge that the entertainment industry has done a poor job of portraying women in their true selves. Chastain tells us that ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ introduced her to women who operate in the shadows, espionage, and lives at danger.

A woman’s sexual appeal has always deemed the most important attribute of a woman by the entertainment industry. She want to show how powerful women can be on TV in all of their complexity.

The actress chose to become a producer and fund movies that portray the tales of such women like her most recent ‘The 355’. It tells the story of a group of women who must work together to stop a terrorist organisation from launching World War III.

Jessica Chastain said, “I’ve never worked on a film set that was as inclusive as this one. I was ecstatic to have the opportunity to work with some special women.”
