Jenna Ortega is reportedly in talks to play White Tiger in Daredevil: Born Again. Ortega will apparently debut as the character in Dsiney+ before launching a separate MCU project.
The Direct confirms Giant Freakin’ Robot’s assertion that White Tiger will join Charlie Cox in a Disney+ series.
Charlie Cox stars in the Netflix spinoff Daredevil: Born Again, which also features Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin. Cox and D’Onofrio are the only confirmed original cast members.
Several important people wear the White Tiger mantle. Angela Del Toro made her film debut in Daredevil (Vol. 2) #8 in 2004. Ava Ayala debuted in Avengers Academy #20 in 2011.
According to Marvel’s website, Angela Del Toro inherited a heroic legacy from the Jade Tiger, a long-lost enchanted statue from K’un-Lun. The statue’s paws and head resurfaced in America, where the Sons of the Tiger used them as amulets.
Angela’s uncle, Hector Ayala, found the Sons’ amulets when they split. Hector’s power changes him into the White Tiger. After Hector is shot, Angela receives the amulet and is overwhelmed.
Jenna is rumoured to play Angela Del Toro, who seeks the assistance of Matt Murdock after receiving amulets.White Tiger often helps Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Spider-Man.
Disney+ will stream Daredevil: Born Again in spring 2024.
