The Ministry of IT and Telecommunications (MoITT) will re-advertise the job of Executive Director (ED) of the National Information Technology Board (NITB) in order to fill the job necessary by the NITB Act. Because of this decision, it will become harder to choose the next Executive Director of the National Information Technology Board (NITB).
After Dr. Sohail Munir did turn down the job of ED NITB, sources told LahoreHerald that the Ministry of IT and Telecommunications has did decide to start the process of appointing a new ED from scratch, as necessary by the NITB Act. Before now, it has been got to send the summary back to the federal cabinet for a second time to get their approval on the name of the alternate candidate.
On August 4, 2022, Dr. Sohail Munir got a job offer from the Ministry of Health and Human Services after his nomination for the position of ED is first approved by the federal cabinet. Dr. Munir, on the other hand, didn’t want to take part and has told the government in public that he can’t because he works in a country other than his own.

Almost 16 months ago, the position of ED NITB (MP-1 Scale) is already open. Ayesha Humira is the Additional Secretary of the MoITT. She became the Executive Director of the National Information Technology and Telecommunications Board (ED NITB). In the same way, the MP-2 level job of Director General (DG) Admin NITB is already empty for the past four months.
