After attempting another road to the top, a Scottish climber is discovered dead in an avalanche on K2.
Rick Allen was trying to collect money for a development organization by following a new K2-mountain road
The Relief and Development Partner organization announced its demise on Sunday on Twitter.
The UK Foreign Office said that a British person died while climbing K2. It was aware of reports.
Allen’s two climbers, Spain’s Jordi Tosas and Austria’s Stephan Keck, are said to have been saved without significant injury.
The 8,611m K2 is the second highest peak in the world. K2 is the highest mountain in the globe. It is also considered one of the most difficult and hazardous limbs.
