IT companies give Alkhidmat Foundation Rs. 15 million to help with flood relief

The Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) member companies gave Rs. 15 million to the Alkhidmat Foundation to help the victims of the recent flood.

P@SHA has released a statement saying that the Alkhidmat Foundation will make sure that people affected by the flood get things like watertight tents, linen sheets, clean drinking water, dry foods, packaged milk and juices, formula milk powder for children of different ages, stitched or ready-to-wear clothing, plastic shoes, hygiene products, raw food items, medical items, and dry fodder.

A third of Pakistan is under water because of the floods, and many people are losing their homes. Badar Khushnood, the head of P@SHA, said that the organization has already sent out a call to its member companies two weeks ago. Asking them to make big donations and get participate in the relief effort.

Also, there are about 500,000 pregnant women and 2 million kids who need a little baby food. The elderly, the sick, and women who are expecting need humanitarian aid and medical care as soon as possible.

Hira Zainab, the secretary general of P@SHA, has said that the organization sees it as its duty to get people in the IT field to help those in need.

The P@SHA community is grateful to the many business leaders who have given more than $15 million to date. She went on to say that this is just the beginning of P@SHA’s CSR efforts with the help of the IT sector to help flood victims.
