Intel unveils Arc A770 GPU to rival RTX 3060

Intel latest and greatest desktop GPU, the ARC A770, now has a release date and price. The graphics card’s starting price of $329 makes it a competitor to Nvidia’s entry-level RTX 3060. Which sells for around $350 and up.

Earlier this month, Intel did talk about the A770. It is based on the ARC 7 GPU and is one of the three Intel GPUs we know about so far (the other two are the A380 and A750/A770). The device has 32 Xe processing cores, and also 32 Ray Tracing processing cores. 8 GB and 16 GB of GDDR6 VRAM memory in two separate configurations.

It has a power rating of 225W and supports XeSS. Which is Intel’s version of Nvidia’s DLSS technology that boosts FPS without sacrificing visual quality.

Here are all of the best things about Intel’s desktop GPUs.

In a similar way, Intel has released data comparing the performance of the RTX 3060 from Nvidia in gaming. Intel says that in several games, the A770 will perform as well as, if not better than, the competition. It’s worth noting that the RTX 3060 came out in January 2021 for a price that became roughly the same as what (on paper).

Keep in mind that Intel has only listed the A770’s “beginning pricing”. Which most likely refers to the 8 GB model. The business has not yet said how much the 16 GB version of the Limited Edition device will cost. The price for that variation is thought to be around $400, but this has not been confirmed.

There are already a few YouTube videos that compare the GPU to Nvidia’s RTX 3070 and AMD’s RX 6750 XT, among others. However, we advise our readers to wait until the graphics card does make available to reputable reviewers before making any firm conclusions about its performance.

We won’t know more until a few weeks from now because Intel has probably blocked reviews until the launch date.
