Intel announces 13th Gen desktop CPUs with 41% better performance

The new “Raptor Lake” processors are the 13th gen of desktop CPUs from Intel. There are three new models, and each one has two different versions.

Intel says that its new 13th gen of CPUs uses less energy than its previous generations. But for most people, the fact that they are faster is all that matters. You can buy these chips without a motherboard and place them in any Intel 12th Generation motherboard.

If you don’t know the following words and phrases, you must become careful as you read the rest of this essay.

So, what’s going on now?

Intel says that the new generation is 15% faster than the last one for single-threaded tasks and up to 41% faster for multi-threaded tasks. The most powerful processors on the market right now are the Core i9-13900K and the 13900KF, which lack an iGPU.

The Core i9-13900K has 8 performance (P) cores, 16 efficiencies (E) cores, and 32 threads, but it doesn’t support Hyper-Threading. All of the P cores can turbo up to 5.8GHz, and all of the E cores can reach 4.3GHz. This processor can reach a maximum Turbo power of 253W. It has 32 MB of L2 cache and base power of 125W.

The Core i7-13700K is the next model down and has 8 physical processor (P) cores and 8 virtual machines (E) cores for a total of 24 threads. The size of the L2 cache is 24 MB, while the size of the L3 cache is 30 MB. The performance cores and the E cores can both go as fast as 4.2 GHz. It has the same base power of 125W and the same maximum power of 253W as the i9 variant.

In the image below, you can see a list of the new models’ specs. Also included are the prices for the new chips, which are surprisingly lower than those of the latest AMD processors (Ryzen 7000 series).

All modern CPUs can use up to DDR5 memory at higher speeds with XMP that has up to 20 PCIe lanes (up to 16 PCIe 5.0 + 4 PCIe 4.0). All configurations with an integrated GPU will come with the Intel UHD Graphics 770 by default.

These CPUs work with the Z790 chipset motherboards that came out recently. They will also work with older motherboards from the 600 series. You can become able to buy the new central processing units and motherboards on October 20.
