Instagram introduces ‘Rage Shake’ feature

Instagram introduces new “Rage Shake” feature lets users shake their phones to report app issues. Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri explained the new function in a video posted to Twitter.

“Have you ever encountered issues with Instagram’s functionality? Maybe Stories didn’t load, or the audio wasn’t functioning, or you couldn’t add a photo, and it was really bothering you? Moreover with the new instagram feature, you may shake the phone to indicate an issue, says Mosseri in the video.

Using the shake to report feature, you can report an issue with the app. Mosseri said this will assist prioritise bugs and learn about other app issues. For now, the feature is only available on iOS and Android in the US.

Social Media Behemoth

The social media behemoth will soon allow users to delete individual images or videos from a carousel post. Moreover Carousel feed posts can contain up to ten images or videos. The latest version lets you delete items from a carousel. You can’t add to the carousel, change items, or reorder them.

Mosseri feels this new feature should have been available a long time ago. A user may have deleted a photo from their grid but still want to preserve the general carousel, or they may want to alter things up with a new post.

A carousel can be deleted by selecting “edit” from the three dots on its right-hand side. Also now swipe to the image you want to erase and hit “delete” in the top left corner. Currently only accessible on iOS, Android support is coming shortly.

Instagram has been rolling out new features for a few weeks now. It started testing a new feature dubbed “Take a Break” last week, which reminds users to leave Instagram after 10, 20, or 30 minutes. Additionally the new “Add Yours” sticker generates public threads in Stories. The new feature allows users to respond to other users’ Stories with their own.
