With iOS 14, Apple has finally introduced support for widgets that can be place on the home screen. As a result, many apps are taking advantage of this, and Instagram seems to be planning something for iOS users too. That’s what developer Alessandro Paluzzi said, who shared the screenshot on his Twitter account.
According to Paluzzi, this forthcoming widget appears to be designed to assist customers who have numerous Instagram accounts. Instagram currently allows users to have multiple accounts and switch between them in the app. The problem, however, is that if you want to go back, you have to go through the whole process again. So jumping back and forth isn’t as smooth as many would like.
However, based on the screenshot, this widget basically places the account as a touch icon in the widget. While we can’t be 100% sure how it works, we assume that if you want to switch to another account, all you have to do is tap on the icon and it will open to that account, making it a few steps shorter than method 1 is currently.
