India vs Enland for WTC as India beat England in the 4th test by 25 runs to win the series 3-1. India beat England by inning and secure a place in the final of the 1st edition of the World Test Championship (WTC) final on Saturday.
Rishabh Pant (101) and Washington Sundar (96 not out) made big wins for India after the hosts gave the visitors 205 for their first passes. Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel took five wickets haul in the second inning to help India beat England for 135.
The duo played 106 runs for their 8th wickets before the midst of chaos for Axar’s stay and run out on 43.
Stokes when came back with a four of 89, He becomes the England’s preferred choice.
He was assisted by James Anderson, who took three for 44. Their freak was disappointed on the surface, who provided a few spins and bounces.
In the second inning, the hosts came to the table by a solid 160 margin.
England negotiated the last minutes before midday without missing a line. But Ravichandran Ashwin picked up two wickets on two balls to rock the visitors into the afternoon session.
Axar Patel’s immediately joined in, quickly knocking out Dom Sibley and Ben Stokes.
Joe Root looked fine during his short stay in the middle. But he misjudged Ashwin’s length delievery and stuck in front of the stump.
The two teams will now turn their attention to the shortest game format. They will compete against five Twenty 20 Internationals in the same venue starting March 12.
