Pakistan fast bowler Fatima Sana is eager and ready to take on India in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup match today in Cape Town.
Speaking to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Fatima expressed her excitement to lead the bowling attack in her first T20I World Cup match. She emphasized the importance of fan support, urging them to cheer on the team whether they are in the stadium or watching from Pakistan.
Bismah Maroof, who is captaining the side for the second time after leading the team in the previous edition in Australia in 2020, will be joined by opener Javeria Khan, who will be appearing in her eighth edition of the T20 World Cup.
The Pakistan squad includes Aimen Anwar, Aliya Riaz, Ayesha Naseem, Fatima Sana, Javeria Khan, Muneeba Ali, Nashra Sandhu, Nida Dar, Omaima Sohail, Sadaf Shamas, Sadia Iqbal, Sidra Amin, Sidra Nawaz, and Tuba Hassan. Reserves Ghulam Fatima and Kainat Imtiaz are also on the roster.
The player support staff includes Ayesha Ashhar as team manager, Saleem Jaffer as bowling coach and interim head coach, Taufiq Umar as batting coach, Mauhtashim Rashid as fielding coach, Syed Nazir Ahmed as media and digital content manager, Yasir Malik as strength and conditioning coach, Dr. Hafiz Salman Asif as team doctor, Muhammad Zubair Ahmad as analyst, and Rifat Gill as physiotherapist.
