In Afghanistan, Pakistan has no favourites says FM Qureshi

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Sunday that in Afghanistan, Pakistan “doesn’t have any favourites” and that it is on the same page as the international community in finding a diplomatic solution to Afghanistan’s issues.

The foreign minister declared during an Islamabad news conference that, “when the time comes, Pakistan would recognize the Taliban Government according to the international consensus, ground realities and the national interests of Pakistan.”

“Pakistan agrees that the Afghan issue should not be handled by military means and wishes to solve all concerns by conversation,” he says, adding that Afghanistan’s objective is seeing the growth and prosperity.

Qureshi stated that he will discuss the Afghan issue in the near future and that India should be working to settle the Afghan issue with neighbouring leadership nations, including China, Iran, Uzbekistan, and Turkistan.

The Pakistani embassy in the state, however, works frequently, and the situation in Afghanistan has changed rapidly.

“Pakistan always played an enabling role in Afghanistan, and it would continue to do so,” said Qureshi.

“We want our neighbouring countries to be in good ties,” Shah Mehmood Qureshi said.

Toward the end of his press briefing, FM Qureshi said the leaders of Afghanistan must collaborate to find a solution that would save lives and the Afghan people’s property.
